PS 199 SLMS

Hello Class LIS690-Fall2009:
Stephanie, Annie, Charlie, Max, Susan, Laurie, and Suki—
I am looking forward to meeting with you next week on Thursday, October 8th from 4:30-6-30pm at Pratt. Please read Chapter 1 from William Ayers, To Teach, The Journey of a Teacher (thank you Suki for passing this hand-out to the class). Heavily mark up your copies with notes, ideas and questions in the margins and then choose at least 3 out of the 10 teaching myths you would like to discuss in class. We will all discuss “Myth 1: Good Classroom Management is an Essential First Step Toward Becoming a Good Teacher” to launch our investigation of “Classroom Management” and what that means for us as Teacher/School Library Media Specialists. Where appropriate in the text, substitute Library Media Specialist for Teacher and Library Media Center for Classroom. Here are notes and resources as promised, sorry for the delay!
See you tomorrow!
Warm regards,
Lisa Taylor, SLMS
